Chris was diagnosed with Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (PSC) at the age of 20. For years he lived a fairly normal life, although he increasingly grew jaundiced. He knew some day his liver would completely fail and he would need a liver transplant to save his life.
In July of 2008, Chris was admitted to the hospital when he was told, the only way he would leave the hospital alive was if he received the gift of life.
On August 6th, Chris received his new liver. Since receiving his gift of life, Chris has been an active and valuable volunteer for Donate Life Connecticut!
“It is now over seven years since my transplant. I am unable to put into words how grateful I am to my transplant family. I felt a responsibility to tell my story and spread the word about the importance of organ and tissue donation.” - Chris
