The Donate Life Partnership of Central Virginia, which includes UNOS, Old Dominion Eye Foundation, LifeNet Health, Inc., Donate Life America, National Kidney Foundation, and MOTTEP of Richmond, honor organ, tissue, and eye donors in an annual tree lighting ceremony at UNOS.
In 2008, there were 175 people that attended the Annual Tree of Life Ceremony. The participants were touched by the opportunity to place an ornament on the tree in memory of their loved one.
Donate Life Connecticut sent a ceramic ornament to UNOS to hang on the Tree of Life in honor of donor families and transplant recipients in Connecticut.
