| DJ DiVincenzo - 5 Years Old |

On December 24th, 2005, at the tender age of 6 months, DJ DiVincenzo was the recipient of a heart transplant due to a Congenital Heart Defect. At the time, DJ's condition was very critical and time was of the essence for him to find a donor. On Christmas Eve, DJ received the best gift, the "Gift of Life". If it wasn't for the unselfishness of the donor family, DJ would not be with us today.
DJ is now 5 years old and is attending full day kindergarten and continues to make progress not only in the classroom, but in all areas of life. DJ loves to play with his younger brother, Max, who will be two years old in June. DJ has many friends and his calendar seems to be tied up almost every weekend with birthday parties to attend. He is participating in Sunday morning gymnastics and continues to take swim lessons, as he loves the pool. His journey continues to enlighten people's lives and change the way we view life.
Through this experience, the DiVincenzo family has recognized the importance of organ and tissue donation. We all have the power to save lives!
To honor DJ's gift, and to celebrate National Donate Life Month, which is April, the DiVincenzos will be hosting their 2nd Annual Bowl for Life Fundraiser, an afternoon of bowling, games and prizes to raise donor awareness. Last year was a tremendous success as a result of great participation and generous contributions. Please join them this year. All proceeds will benefit Donate Life Connecticut.
Additionally, unwrapped children’s toys will be collected at the event for two hospitals that have played an integral role in DJ's success; Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital of New York Presbyterian and Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital.
