Torrence, 33, and Grisselle, 32, are full-time students who have been together for 3 years and reside in Berlin Connecticut with their son Jordan. Grisselle works in the finance department of Hartford Hospital's Transplant and Liver Center and Torrence is a Program Manager for Wheeler Clinic. On May 11th 2006, Grisselle's oldest and only sister Ana Garcia passed away at the age of 32 after a strong 17 year battle with liver disease. Ana, also known as ITA, had a contagious smile and laugh that would make anyone’s day that much better. She was a natural care giver and spent her life spreading love through her concern and care for others. Grisselle asked Torrence to take part in this dance competition event to help raise money. After numerous requests by Torrence to raise money for this event in other ways to prevent the stress and anxiety that leads up to an event like this, Torrence finally gave in. Grisselle and Torrence decided that they really wanted to spread awareness and help give some form of hope and healing to those who are currently going through what ITA went through; and what better way to do it then dancing in front of a room full of strangers who all want to do the same.
